Bloomberg Questions if Candidates Can Walk the Walk

Bloomberg Speaks in Front of City Hall in New York

Following a published announcement in Thursday's New York Times ending speculation about a possible 2008 presidential bid, New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg (Independent) questioned the ability of the presidential candidates to govern effectively.

"I've heard [the candidates] talk a lot about ideas," said Bloomberg at an afternoon news conference. "What I have not heard are concrete plans."

Bloomberg also said that he has no plans to endorse any presidential candidate and has scarcely seen or spoken with any of them. In 2004 Bloomberg, then a Republican backed President George W. Bush in his presidential bid.
