Dems Battle Over the Surge

Vivian Nereim   Co-Features Editor
ABC shows a video claiming that the surge has worked.

"Until we end this war," says Richardson, "we cannot talk about the issues that need to be dealt with here."

He likes to tap his podium, and it's a little too close to the microphone, so we get some awkward feedback action from him. Richardson has tried to ride above the fray so far, and has taken his speaking opportunities to list the problems that he thinks are important, such as the ever-so-hardhitting issue of "bringing the country together."

Obama says that the surge has just brought us full circle.

They've been working on their listening faces. Cock your head to the side, furrow your brow sincerely, squint and nod decisively, and you too can be a presidential candidate.
